Football legend Diego Maradona will play in
The Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) and the Argentinean embassy had finalized plans for the match, which would also see several other former Argentinean stars.
The seven-a-side match will be played in two halves of 25-35 minutes at the My Dinh Stadium.
Argentina-based Elemco Construction Corporation will sponsor the cost of transport, food, and security for the visitors while the VFF will be in charge of organizing the game.
Maradona, now 47, led his country to the World Cup title in 1986. For his dazzling performances – including ‘that’ goal against England when he ran all the way from deep in his half, beating a clutch of players – he won the Golden Ball award that year.
From 1977 to 1994 he scored 34 goals in 91 appearances for Argentina.
